I presented my knowledge about the position to interviewers and they were really impressed. This program saved me months, if not years of research. A job search is a difficult process, and it’s even more difficult when you are not equipped with the right resources. I was hesitant to join but made the jump. The resources and people they have reviewed my resume and LinkedIn right away. Thank you, Isaiah for encouraging me to get enrolled in the program. For the first few days into the program, I felt like I wasted my dollars since the information provided are freely available online. However, after few weeks into the program, I realized that not all the information are available online. All these valuable lessons in a group setting and one-on-one interaction at every step in the job search process cannot be bought with the dollars that I invested in Cheeky Scientist. While doing a full time job, a job search process is not easy and finding information online takes a toll on your schedule. Cheeky Scientist has brought together all those information into one place and the weekly classes and one-on-one interaction with Isaiah assisted me to nail the interview process. Although I was not confident, Isaiah was confident that I will land a job within 12 - 24 weeks. Within 17 weeks, I had several interviews and 3 industry offers to choose from. I searched for a job for 6 months on my own without any offers. I am not going to say exactly how long I was in job search, but it was years, not months. I tried local job search groups, but they didn’t know what to do with someone with my background. Ph.D. scientists are unicorns outside of academia. I tried networking around the applicant tracking system. I tried different targets. I reinvented myself again and again in survival jobs while searching for where I could use my skills and experience in a meaningful way AND get paid for it. I recently started my new job as a Scientist and I wanted to thank Cheeky Scientist for their invaluable guidance. At first, I was on the fence about joining Cheeky Scientist. I was convinced that I was not qualified enough, and that no one could help me transition to industry. I was even contemplating a second postdoc to gain more skills. But after that initial conversation with them, I decided to trust their method and their vast experience in helping PhDs transition to industry. Joining Cheeky Scientist turned out to be the best possible decision I could have made! What helped? The complete transformation of my mindset when it came to job search strategy and interviews. I completely restructured my resume, and made it more functional. After I implemented the strategies from the LinkedIn class, my SSI score went from 37 to 62 in 4 weeks! I joined Cheeky Scientist three months before my PhD graduation. In my first month I still had to focus on defending my dissertation, too, but I was able to use the various resources that Cheeky Scientist provides to improve my visibility on LinkedIn, to learn how to network, to revamp my resume, to practice interviews, and to build confidence in my value as a PhD. I really enjoyed their data scientist program. I got two offers in the same week I graduated after my first sets of interviews. The classes that we have access to are very thorough and complete and touch every theme that you're supposed to know during your job hunting process. I was assisted with resume reviews for job applications, with my LinkedIn profile, with networking (which helped me get my job) and, which for me was the most productive, interview preparation. All the questions I asked were answered in a timely way. The courses you have access to through the platform are also very helpful, such as Project Management and others. Cheeky Scientist is a great organization, I entered it back in June 2020 after following many free seminars they provided. What they teach you is the essential and advanced communication - the language and culture of professional needs of bio-pharmaceutical industry. Many scientifically and medically trained professionals simply do not know how to translate their value and present themselves in a dynamic, purposeful way. It can be done, of course, by being trained by the strong network of professionals who are included, from the very early days, in Cheeky Scientist and know what initial pains they had to endure to get there. There are many materials to read through, simulation scenarios, mock interviews, and the network is getting stronger by the day. I particularly like the short, single themed videos which are sent every day (CS culture), and further development of the Diamond program which has basically leading you to guaranteed success with reasonable investment. I am certain that CS is the cause I was able to build my network, to interact with many people from industry and the reason I have better awareness of my capabilities. I recommend CS culture daily, and dedicated expanded CS program when you have decided to transition, it is going to be very helpful and transformative.
